Wearing a device that his wife Heather compared to the packs the Ghostbusters wore in their movies, Springfield officer Mark Priebe walked for the first time since an attacker struck him with a car in June 9.
Officer Priebe’s wife Heather shared a video on social media Friday of Mark wearing an “Esko.” It’s a device used in therapeutic situations that allow paralyzed people to walk.
“It’s designed to help him stand and walk,” Heather Priebe posted on Facebook. “He would move his hips in a lateral direction and it stimulates the movement of his knee. From the side he looked like a Ghostbuster.”
Heather said Mark is still paralyzed and does not have movement on his own, and the device is not something that can be used at home.
