Galena Young Life is hosting The Great Galena Young Life BBQ Throwdown on Saturday, May 23, 2026. The event runs from noon-3pm and costs $10 for adults, and $5 for kids. There will be live music and inflatables. All the money raised will go to send students to Young Life camp.
On Saturday, the Springfield Greene County Park Board will host the first Movies in the Park of the summer! Wicked For Good will play at 8:15pm at Jordan Valley Park, Springfield Botanical Gardens, and Silver Springs Garden. The movie is free and no tickets are required. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy.


The 43rd annual Mid-America Streed Rod Nationals will begin Friday, May 22, 2026 and run through Sunday, May 24, 2026. The event will be at the Ozarks Empire Fairgrounds. Tickets are $20 for adults and $6 for children 6-12 years old.
If a trip to the flower farm sounds like a way to usher in the summer, check out Pa’s Posey Patch in Cassville. Pa’s is a you-pick-flower-farm and a photographer’s dream for a backdrop. The posies are in bloom and will be beautiful through the weekend. A trip to the flower farm is free, but donations are accepted.

Memorial Day Fireworks – Branson
If you’re on the hunt for Fireworks to light up the night sky this weekend, there are plenty of options.
Big Cedar Lodge boasts the biggest Memorial Day celebration in the Ozarks. The fireworks will explode on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at dawn.
Chateau on the Lake begins festivities early on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with a BBQ and finishes at 9pm with fireworks.
The Summer Concert Series kicks off Memorial Day weekend on the Branson Landing on Saturday, May 23rd. Free, live music will begin at 7pm and the fireworks and drone show will begin at 9:20pm.
