St. Louis Street is getting a whole new look, and now, a whole new sound.
Just west of the new Queen’s Gate 66 sculpture will be a road that sings “America the Beautiful” when you drive over it at 30mph.
According to Visit Springfield‘s Mark Hecquet, the goal is to make memories for the community, “Visit Springfield wants to create a really unique experience, something not well known of in Springfield and Route 66. We put in a musical road.”
The Queen’s Gate dedication will be on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11am. The musical road should be fully open shortly after.
