Of course I LOVE movies! And, a BRAT PACK movie is classic and full of memories. THE BREAKFAST CLUB is celebrating its 40th anniversary as one of the great defining classics of the 1980s, capturing the raw emotions, struggles, and identity crises of teenage life. THE BREAKFAST CLUB was released in 1985, John Hughes’ coming-of-age masterpiece brought together five high school students from different social cliques—each with their own insecurities and pressures—who discovered that they weren’t so different after all.
For those of us who grew up with it, the film was more than just a movie; it was a mirror reflecting the complexities of our own adolescence, the need for connection, and the desire to be understood beyond labels. Its iconic moments, heartfelt conversations, and the unforgettable Simple Minds anthem, DON’T YOU (Forget About Me), still resonate decades later, reminding us that, deep down, we all carry a bit of the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess, and the criminal within us.
Celebrate THE BREAKFAST CLUB with a rewatch or a first time watch. And, celebrate YOUR youth!
